That's What A Weekends For!

This weekend was so sunny and beautiful. We enjoyed a ton family time, it was a BLAST. The sun was shining, the breeze was blowing and the pollen was intense! Lunch was the first order of business Saturday and Chinese food is what we all wanted.

(Cell phone pictures never turn out good. Sorry!)

We visited our favorite junktique store and the used bookstore. The used bookstore provides hours of amusement for our family. We love going through all the books and finding new stuff to read. I enjoy buying a huge bag of books and spending less than 20 dollars.

Then we saw Diary of A Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules. It was hilarious. Good clean fun even the party scene didn't have anything inappropriate. I love the lesson of your brother will always be your friend.

After the movie, the kids talked us into Monopoly, not just any Monopoly though. MY American Idol Monopoly, which allows you to pick anyone from season 1 through 5 and place them were you like on the board. We cracked open the box and set it up on the dining room table. Eight hours of  family fun spread over two days with lots of laughs, crazy stories about past seasons, and good snacks. Two hours after eliminating Caroline and Win, Patrick and I finally called a tie and put it away.

Our last adventure for the weekend was a new recipe. We made Cornmeal Lime Cookies. Found the recipe over at Meet Me in the Kitchen and they were fabulous! I will be back and share the recipe tomorrow.

We made 26 cookies and by the time we went to bed last night 10 were left. Yes, they are THAT GOOD!

How was your weekend? Are you soaking up as much family time as possible with the longer, sunnier days? Have a great week.

  1. Sounds like such a perfect weekend! Love getting books like that, you just never know what treasures you're going to find.

We had a great weekend too... yardwork, getting the rover ready for offroading/camping, just stuff like that that isn't fun, but sort of takes on a magical glow when everyone is working together. :-)
