Chinese New Year and 12

I am not sure where the time has gone, but all the sudden I find myself the mother of a handsome, smart, sensitive 12 year old man child.

His birthday this year fell on Chinese New year so that is the theme he wanted. It was a lot of fun to plan. The decorating was fun too. This table scape was so easy and colorful.





We set a low table up in the living room and let them all sit on pillows for dinner. The all had a blast learning to use their chopsticks. Patrick and Caroline tried to help with lessons, but we ended up giving forks to some.

Patrick's favorite part, Sushi. This boy is nuts for it. We also served Japanese sodas to the kids(pictured below.) The were a lot of fun. The top of the bottle is sealed with a marble and it comes with a cap that helps you push the marble into the bottle. So cool!



Each box contained chopsticks, Chinese yoyo, Chinese candy, finger locks, and a fortune cookie.


This is Patrick with his boys. Some of them have been friends since second grade! I still can not believe these kids are 12 & 13. Amazing how the time just flies by.
